June is Western Historical Romance Month on my blog!
As this is the first day of June and the beginning of the month in which I feature western historical romances, I thought to start our time in the American West with some Favorite Quotes from some of those Best Western Historical Romances:
From Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold by Ellen O’Connell:
“…Anne believed she would in the end hear the words she, like all women, longed to hear, but if he never spoke of it, she would be content with this. He loved her, and she knew it, and he was capable of such tenderness it left her trembling, overwhelmed by her own love for him.”
From Heart of the West by Penelope Williamson:
“A heartfire, Clementine my darlin’, is when you want someone, when you need her so damn bad, not only in your bed but in your life, that you’re willin’ to burn--.”
From Comanche Heart by Catherine Anderson:
“The sadness in your heart is a yesterday you can no longer see, so put it behind you and walk always forward.”
From Pieces of Sky by Kaki Warner:
“Like a blind foal on a short lead, Brady knew he would stumble along wherever he was led—as long as she was on the other end of the rope.”
Stay with us for an exciting month with some wonderful romances to treasure. And tomorrow, I'll be sharing with you some of the paintings of my favorite artist of the American West, Albert Bierstadt!
What a great topic to fill a month. I haven't read most of these (yet), but I adore Kaki Warner's books.
ReplyDeleteMK, you are in for a treat! My Best Western Historical Romances list that I'll be updating this month has some great 5-star reads. And Kaki, whose new book WHERE THE HORSES RUN will be reviewed by me, will be a guest this month, too!
