Best Medieval Romances!

Who among us ladies hasn’t dreamed of a knight in shinning armour? Or, of living in a time when valor prevailed and honorable men did great deeds and women of character loved them? (I did say we were dreaming, right?) Well, these historical romances will take you back to those medieval times.

Since the medieval period in European history spanned from the 5th century to the 15th century, all the stories on my list take place during that period; however, some Scottish/Highlander, Irish, Viking and Pirate/Privateer historicals from that time period not listed here can be found on those specific “Best Lists” (found on my blog under “Categories”).

    1. Priscilla,
I'm so glad I've introduced you to some new books! I love the medieval period, but then I guess I am a confirmed romantic.

  2. Regan-
Love the list-- and very happy to see I'v read quite a few of them-- including the one at the top spot, "Kingdom of Dreams"- truly a timeless classic in historical romance. Will be heading over to Facebook and Twitter later to share. :-)
Thanks for sharing with the Goodreads followers.

  3. The photo at the top of the Medieval Knight is my favorite cover model Cherif Fortin. He is as charming as he is handsome, and I am proud to call him my friend.

    1. Shery, I'll send you an email. I can't recall reading one like that and I have a Best Irish Historical Romances list that it would be on if I'd given it 4 or 5 stars. But I will see what I can find.

  9. Do you remember a medieval where two knight's fall in love. One is a female though of course no one knows it. She is not very feminine looking. I think the cover has crossed swords. The end of the book had the couple getting ready for battle.

  10. It's a great list , I hadn't read many of them and I'm a voracious reader of medieval romance. I think it is lacking Julie Garwood/ The Bride, Ransom and many others. Oh and my favorite Honors Splendor. She was the first historical author I ever read. She is just awesome. Thanks for the list.

    1. I'm glad you like the list. I read a half dozen of Julie Garwood before giving up on her improbable plots. So she'll never be on this list or my Scottish one.
