BEST VIKING ROMANCES!

Every now and then I just love a good Viking Romance. Nothing like a Viking raid and a strapping tall warrior to get your blood boiling, right? Well, I have a list of those I’ve rated 5 and 4 stars on Amazon for just this purpose. I thought my blog readers might like to see which ones I consider “best,” as I have waded through many I could not recommend. Here are my favorites:

·      Raeliksen (reviewed in today’s post) and the sequel, Mac Liam by Renee Vincent
·      Edin’s Embrace by Nadine Crenshaw
·      Viking Gold by Nadine Crenshaw
·      Tara’s Song by Barbara Ferry Johnson
·      The Enchantment (first published as My Warrior’s Heart) by Betina Krahn
·      Dawnfire by Lynn Erickson
·      Golden Surrender, The Viking’s Woman and Lord of the Wolves, trilogy by Heather Graham Pozzessere
·      Fires of Winter, Hearts Aflame and Surrender My Love, trilogy by Johanna Lindsey (Hearts Aflame is the only 5 star in the set, but Fires of Winter is good, too; and they can be read separately.)
·      Maidensong by Diana Groe (I did not like the sequel, ERINSONG, as well)
·      The Viking’s Defiant Bride by Joanna Fulford

Let me know if I’ve missed one you love! I know there are good ones out there you have read and I am always looking for a great Viking romance.

  1. What an honor to be named at the top of your BEST VIKING ROMANCES list and to be among so many great Viking romance authors! Thank you so much for this mention. I am so pleased that you enjoyed Raeliksen. It is definitely a story that is close to my heart.

  4. Lisa writes paranormal romance...perhaps we can talk her into writing a story of a vampire who was a Viking and (of coure) survived to modern times. Lisa?

  5. Forgot to add that I suggested Lisa start with Raeliksen as I believe she reads only on Kindle.

  7. WOW! Thanks so much! You have named a few I don't know about, but I will get them. I love Kathleen Woodiwiss's early works but never thought about Wulfgar as a Viking...his is a William the Conqueror knight. (The Wolf and the Dove is on my Best Medieval Romances list.) The Dream of Me trilogy by Josie Litton is in my "to be read" stack.I have stayed away from Sandra Hill because so many of hers are fantasy rather than history. But you've given me some to read!

  8. This is great! I love romance, but I'm very picky. The writing quality has to be up there, with well developed characters and relationships that actually make sense. I'm very excited to explore! I have several favorite authors; Johanna Lindsey, Judith Mcnaught, Shannon Drake, Jude Deveraux, Juliet Marillier...To name the authors I go back to all the time for romance (slash fantasy). Unfortunately I came to the point where I've read all of their books, and there is nothing more disappointing than trying a new romance author, and being sorely let down. In my experience it happens more often than in say...Fantasy or Science Fiction. And as a librarian, I am constantly trying to find romances of a calibre I can show other librarians, to show that they are not just "bodice rippers not worth the paper they're printed on". Can't wait, I can already see a title that intrigues me in the side column, and more than one of my aforementioned authors, so I know I won't be let down! Yipee!!!!
